Magazine Poster Attempt #1

I have started editing my poster for the magazine. This is the image before I started editing:

The first thing I did was crop the image, so that it wasn't too horizontal. A convention of many posters is that the image used for the magazine is also the image for the front cover of the digipak, so this means it will be square. I also added the name of the band, and the name of the song, "Bleeding Out".

Next, I added some critics reviews. These are in white, because the colour of the image is darker. It makes the writing stand out, so people will be drawn into read it. By using well known magazines in the music industry, such as NME and Rolling Stone, people will recognise these names, and trust their judgement of the album or single. The final thing I have added so far, is a website address for the artist.

The final thing I did, was change the "new single" to "new album", so I could then add "featuring the singles..." I thought this would look better, as it fills up some of the empty space. I don't think I'll keep it in black though, because it gets harder to read. However, I'm not sure that I want it white as well, because the colours seem to show a contrast between the actual album and the critics reviews.

I will maybe change the placing of the critics reviews, because it doesn't quite fit yet. However, I'm happy with where this is going so far.
